In September 2023, Bone Dry Roofing teamed up with roofing materials manufacturer, Owens Corning, to donate a roof and all associated expenses to a deserving first responder in the Nashville area. Providing safety, security, and peace of mind to someone who does the same for our community has been a rewarding experience for everyone involved.
Bone Dry’s Nashville office hosted a First Responder Roof Giveaway, giving local residents the opportunity to nominate a deserving local first responder who could benefit from a new roof. The winner was announced and acknowledged at a recent Nashville Sounds baseball game during the team’s First Responder Weekend.
The roof giveaway recipient, Laura Sanderson, is a dedicated booking supervisor for the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), where she has worked for nearly 20 years. Her close friend nominated her to receive a new roof because of her hard work, dedication and commitment to her job, and selflessness as a single mother. She has spent many hours remodeling her current home, and a new roof is a significant investment that will have a big impact on her home’s appearance, value, and function.
Giving back to the communities we serve has always been a fundamental principle of Bone Dry Roofing. Each year, Bone Dry teams across the Midwest participate in various charity events, host fundraisers, facilitate community clean-ups, and provide assistance to nonprofit and local organizations. Earlier this year, we partnered with Operation Stand Down Tennessee, a veteran-serving agency, to package food donations for homeless veterans in the area. Bone Dry Loves Pink is an initiative designed to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and we have donated over $50,000 to the cause since the launch of the campaign. As an active participant of Habitat for Humanity, partner of Helping Veterans and Families (HVAF), supply drive coordinator of National Women in Roofing (NWiR), and more, Bone Dry Roofing spends countless hours every year working to make a positive impact on the communities in which we live and operate.
Our local first responders are unsung heroes who selflessly protect and serve our community every day. We wanted to show our gratitude and support for Laura’s dedication to the community by ensuring that she and her family have a safe and secure roof over their heads.
