Investor Development Manager

Position Description / Responsibilities

This position serves as a development representative to recruit and help retain new members and investors to the Chamber. This position’s primary responsibility is securing new investors to support the Chamber’s economic development initiative, Partnership 2030.

The essential functions of this position are:

  • Proactively contacts corporations and community entities to make asks and encourage them to invest in Partnership 2030. Meets with prospective companies individually to deliver the value proposition of being engaged in Partnership 2030.
  • Accountable for managing a prospect sales funnel to achieve or exceed revenue recruitment goals. Identify strong potential prospects to generate outbound leads and sales opportunities
  • Knowledgeable about issues of importance to investor and prospect executives and communicates opportunities for engagement/involvement to new Chamber investors.
  • Participates in Chamber and Partnership 2030 events to promote interest in Chamber investment.
  • Works in partnership with VP, Member & Investor Relations and investor relations team to build sales and prospect strategies to acquire new investors and ensure future renewal
  • Coordinate sales ask with Investor Relations team when prospect is a strong candidate for Partnership 2030 investment.
  • Assist with investor renewals as needed by VP, Member & Investor Relations.
  • Maintains confidentiality of member information.

 

Position Requirements

Knowledge / Education Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience, relationship building and relevant training
  • Proven success in exceeding sales goals and client expectations, particularly in sales of an intangible product.
  • Experience in developing revenue and fundraising
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Experienced with prospect management and customer relationship management software

  • Great enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude
  • Superior customer service and relationship building skills
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with all levels of business and community leaders; public speaking experience preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must be a team player
  • Ability to learn and communicate all benefits of Chamber investment
  • Must have the ability to drive to prospect appointments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
  • Makes decisions for strategies to acquire new investors
  • Actively recruits new Partnership investors to meet budget goals
  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities
  • Project work is occasionally assigned as needed, less than 25% of the time is devoted to project work currently

 

Physical Demands / Requirements:

  • Typically sitting at a desk or table in office
  • Occasional lifting of light objects (less than 24 pounds)
  • Intermittently walking, standing, bending and carrying
  • Requires use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls and observance of fire regulations
  • Some repetitive motion is involved
  • Requires manual dexterity, visual and auditory acuity
  • Must have transportation to attend customer appointments
  • Work is performed in an office and outbound
  • Requires attendance at events before or after normal business hours
  • Requires visits to other businesses in the local area
