What has been the most valuable aspect of your Chamber membership?
I have loved being part of the Intro Nashville series. Spreading the word of all things food and local is gratifying. Also, seeing many of the participants interact with our brand, whether it’s at a farm dinner, volunteering or subscribing to the magazine, is fantastic. Connection is what Edible is all about, and the chamber creates the ability for that to happen.
Can you share a significant lesson you have learned as a business leader?
Relationships rule and are the heart of business, small and large.
How do you manage and maintain a positive company culture?
I am a risk-taker and a very positive person. I’m also lucky to have my passion be my job, so it isn’t hard to pass along good vibes when you love what you do. We only live once, and I’m going to do it to the fullest. Also, never sweat the small stuff.
Are there new markets or demographics you are targeting?
2025 is our 10 year anniversary, and as such, we are the only local magazine that has consistently published every issue for 10 years—even through the pandemic. We’re going to celebrate big with more collaborations with local businesses and organizations.
What is unique about your business that makes you stand out?
We are the only local print magazine that follows old school editorial rules. We are not “pay-to-play,” but a magazine with stories that serve our mission and our readers, which is to connect locals with their local food system, thereby creating community. We are a food magazine about people. Our farm dinners are labors of love, bringing together locals that then connect and grow with each other. We’re authentic and real.
How do you stay informed about industry trends and changes?
I devour all news sources (local and international) and am out and about in the community—at events, local restaurants, food trucks. pop-ups, farmers markets, local markets, and very involved with our nonprofit community to give back.
Can you share why the Nashville region is a good place to do business?
Creative, thriving, and growing.
What do you want to be known for in the business community?
An editor, writer that runs a beautiful brand (magazine, farm dinners) that informs, connects and creates a generous, kind community.
