Yesterday, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce welcomed Tennessee Commissioner of Health Dr. Ralph Alvarado and members of the department’s leadership team to discuss shared goals for improving health outcomes in Middle Tennessee. The meeting brought together Chamber CEO Ralph Schulz, incoming Chamber CEO Stephanie Coleman, and Commissioner Alvarado, highlighting ongoing collaborations between the Chamber and state partners to foster a healthier and more vibrant workforce.

Commissioner Alvarado emphasized the critical role of partnerships in achieving health and workforce goals: “Partnering with chambers of commerce and the business community across Tennessee is essential to improving health outcomes in our state. A healthy workforce is key to recruiting and retaining industry, and I appreciate the opportunity to discuss initiatives like expanding SSPs and promoting healthier lifestyles with the Nashville Chamber. We look forward to continuing this partnership to create a brighter future for Tennessee.”

This meeting also focused on aligning health and workforce priorities, such as expanding access to health services, encouraging healthier lifestyles, and building a coalition of support among state, local, and regional governments, nonprofits, and businesses.

Ralph Schulz expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity to collaborate on these initiatives: “We appreciate the opportunity to hear Dr. Alvarado’s key initiatives for promoting healthier lifestyles across Tennessee. These initiatives are essential to recruiting, retaining, and expanding the state’s workforce, and we look forward to partnering with him to support these efforts.”
