Job Summary:
Lithographics, Inc. is looking for a self-motivated, hardworking, and energetic 1st Pressman (Sheetfed) to join our team. Position requires comprehensive knowledge of printing industry and printing processes. Individual must be capable of operating Heidelburg 40” sheetfed presses. This position is responsible for all facets of production and quality on the offset press including stock knowledge, make ready of machine, quality, color matching and color consistency, and running at effective press efficiencies. In addition, this position requires completion of work performed, documenting issues and downtime of press, and handling standard preventative maintenance of the new presses, and perform other necessary housekeeping tasks as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Requires thorough knowledge of sheetfed, offset printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, safety requirements, and skills to perform assignments.
- Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully.
- Skill to follow instructions to operate equipment safely and produce a quality product.
- Knowledge of the appropriate amount of packing pressure needed to obtain the proper printing pressure for the type of job being produced.
- Ability to mount and align the printing plates correctly.
- Ability to make adjustments to feeder and feed board (e.g., ability to adjust suctions and blast, front and side guides and the timing of the head stops).
- Ability to maintain high quality product off the equipment
- Skill in performing routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
- Must be able to maintain good attendance.
- Ability to read, interpret, and document job related issues for press operations in job flow systems
- Must be able to work overtime, as pre-scheduled.
- Must be able to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working a different shift if needed.
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
