Who is PGM PR and what should we know about you?
I’m Petey, the founder of PGM PR—which are my initials (Peter Gabriel McGuire) – my mom was a big fan of Peter Gabriel and the angel Gabriel in the Bible. Since launching in 2018, I’ve helped artists, festivals, and hospitality brands cut through the noise and get the recognition they deserve in top-tier publications (Forbes, Billboard), podcasts (Back To Back with Willy Joy), influencers (@nashvilletn), and other relevant media in their respective spaces.
Storytelling is at the heart of everything I do. I’m passionate about not just promoting my clients but crafting narratives that genuinely connect with people. My goal is to highlight my client’s work with meaningful stories and creative collaborations, altogether delivering the most impactful results for each campaign.
Can you share a significant lesson you have learned as a business leader?
One of the biggest things that was instilled in me right from the get-go was that every client is on their own journey. My job isn’t just to get them press; it’s to truly understand where they are, where they want to go, and how I can help them get there. Success looks different for everyone, so the key is meeting people where they are and championing their vision in the most impactful way possible.
What is unique about your business that makes you stand out?
It’s a healthy mix of a personable and collaborative experience. I’m not the type to gridlock my clients into a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, I tailor every campaign to their unique story, goals, and audience. I’m always open to their ideas when it comes to messaging, strategy, or even specific outlets to target.
How do you stay informed about industry trends and changes?
Muckrack. It’s a fantastic tool for publicists and keeps me up to date on so much. Beyond that, I follow other peers in the industry whose work I really admire. I’ve found that when it comes to these trends and changes, the key is to always keep an open mind about how they might be implemented into my business.
Can you share why the Nashville region is a good place to do business?
Nashville is the best city in the USA. The city is electric with energy, ideas, creativity, hustle, food, coffee (shoutout Cafe Babu), the list goes on.
Plus, being surrounded by some of the best talent in entertainment, media, and hospitality keeps me motivated to bring my best every day. There’s something for everyone here, and that sense of community and drive to be the best makes it an exciting place to grow a business.
