Member Spotlight: Catalyst Collective

Who is Catalyst Collective and what should we know about you?
Catalyst Collective exists to empower nonprofit organizations by taking the burden of marketing off their plates, allowing them to focus on what truly matters—impact. Founded by Sunny Bray, Catalyst specializes in branding, storytelling, website design, and comprehensive marketing strategy. With a deep understanding of the nonprofit landscape, we are a collaborative partner that helps nonprofits grow their presence, engage donors, and amplify their mission to create lasting change.

How do you manage and maintain a positive company culture?
When I started Catalyst Collective, I knew that my team would come from all different backgrounds as we partner with contractors to provide mission-driven services. I wanted to work with talented people who actually cared about the work they were doing and knew they could leave a lasting impact on the community through their talents. I’m always looking to praise our team — while also investing in them through mentorship and guidance.
I also know that everyone is human. I approach each working relationship with the same grace I would want to receive. Members on our team have experienced marriages, moves, the death of family and friends, miscarriages, births — and respecting the time it takes to fully experience those things is part of what I pride on as a business leader. We’re all here for each other and have supported each other through all seasons of life.

What is unique about your business that makes you stand out?
Most non profit consulting companies are all about the for-profit business—but not us. Our non-profit consultants have built a bridge for nonprofits to access expert marketing that’s purposefully designed for mission-driven work. Our marketing strategy goes beyond posting—it focuses on the metrics that drive real impact– building stronger connections, deeper engagement, and lasting support for your mission.

The goal isn’t just to “market” your nonprofit—it’s to empower you to engage with your community, grow your donor base, and create a lasting impact beyond social media metrics or email campaigns. And stories are key. We use storytelling in a way that moves people to action. To feel and take action. To impact.

Can you share why the Nashville region is a good place to do business?
There are thousands of nonprofits in Nashville, all doing exceptional work. For us, nonprofits are the heart of the community and we’re honored to serve them. Many times they lack the resources needed to effectively share their story and ultimately gain donors, recruit volunteers and overall manage their public image. We step in to help these organizations thrive.

In addition to the plethora of nonprofits, there are also so many talented people in Nashville. No matter the nonprofit’s need, I know there is someone in Nashville that can craft beautiful products that not only support but amplify the mission of nonprofits.

How do you stay involved in the community?
Because of the number of nonprofits in Nashville, there is always a way to give back. I personally spend every month volunteering with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, packing food for their Backpack Program. This is organized through the Rotary Club of Nashville.

Outside of volunteering, I love to connect with like-minded professionals around the city. I do this through attending events, networking socials, and grabbing one-on-one time with peers. When I’m grabbing lunch, I’m usually supporting a small business like Thistle Farms Cafe.
