Sixth annual conference unites creatives, entrepreneurs and small business leaders

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Aug 19, 2024) – The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce on Monday announced Monchiere’ Holmes-Jones as the 2024 Nashpreneur of the Year. This award is reserved for an individual in the Nashville community who exemplifies what it means to be a “Nashpreneur”—creative, resilient, risk-taking, and a leader who paves the way for other entrepreneurs and small businesses to succeed.

“As a community trailblazer and homegrown entrepreneur, Monchiere’ has established herself as a leader and pillar for other entrepreneurs and small business owners,” said Veronica Marable Johnson, VP of Programs and Event Logistics at the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. “We’re proud to recognize her for her accomplishments and know she will continue to be a servant-leader representing our region around the country.”

Holmes-Jones will be officially recognized during the 2024 Nashpreneurs event on Wednesday, August 22nd at the Hilton Nashville Green Hills.

A seasoned advertising agency vet with 20+ years of experience with a blend of agency and in-house corporate brands with major industries like tourism, historical, automotive, government nonprofits, gaming, healthcare, wireless, higher education (HBCUs), tech, and quick service restaurants.

“Entrepreneurial communities are the lifeblood of innovation and resilience, and the Nashville Area Chamber has consistently been a nurturing ground for entrepreneurs like myself,” said Holmes-Jones. “Being recognized as the Nashpreneur of the Year is not only a great honor but also a reflection of the vibrant, supportive community we’ve cultivated at Mojo Marketing + PR and within the broader Nashville area.”

In 2014, Monchiere’ opened MOJO Marketing + PR helping real brands merge business innovation, creativity, and servant leadership together for better. MOJO continues to thrive in memorable market takeover media exposure, energetic integrated marketing campaigns and ideating experiential events for stellar brands like the NFL Tennessee Titans, NIH CEAL, Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority Inc., National Museum of African American Music (NMAAM), Cares ACT campaign with The Equity Alliance, Tennessee State Parks, New Orleans Multicultural Tourism Network, The Cupcake Collection, MetroPCS, United States Postal Service, HCA Healthcare, Hiller Plumbing Heating Cooling & Electrical, Mr. Roof and many more.

Today, Monchiere’s leadership is recognized beyond her work as a notable community advocate, and as a preservationist for the revitalization of Black-owned business districts around the U.S. Sitting at the helm for Black Historic districts Jefferson Street Historical Society in Nashville, TN, board member for Oretha Castle Haley Business and Merchants District in New Orleans, LA and board member Bordeaux Business Coalition in Nashville, TN.

She’s an alum of Xavier University of Louisiana and is married to Frederick J. Jones (her childhood sweetheart).
