Tell us about the industry in which your company operates.
With a strong presence in new home construction, repair and remodeling, and outdoor structures, we’ve built a reputation as an industry leader defined by innovation, quality, reliability, and sustainability. Our building products serve a wide range of customers—including retailers, wholesalers, and homebuilding and industrial businesses—primarily across North and South America, with emerging sales in Asia, Australia, and Europe.

What is unique about your company that helps you differentiate yourself?
We are proud to be North America’s leading manufacturer of engineered wood siding. Our versatile portfolio—including siding, trim, soffit, and fascia—meets the needs of diverse end markets. Engineered for durability, our products outperform traditional solid wood by offering enhanced resistance to hail, wind, moisture, fungal decay, and termites.

What sets us apart is our commitment to sustainability. Our Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) show that our siding products are carbon-negative—storing more carbon than they emit over their entire life cycle—from material sourcing to end-of-life—helping to reduce emissions associated with the building process.

Why is the Nashville region a good place for your business?
Founded over 50 years ago in Portland, Oregon, LP relocated its global headquarters to Nashville, Tennessee in 2004—a strategic move to position the company closer to its manufacturing footprint and better serve a growing customer base. This relocation placed LP at the center of its operations, reinforcing its commitment to efficiency, responsiveness, and long-term growth.

Many Nashvillians first came to know LP through “LP Field,” the name of the Tennessee Titans’ stadium from 2006 to 2015. Securing the naming rights was a bold and visible way to introduce ourselves to the Nashville community and demonstrate our investment in the city we now call home.

How does your company ensure a safe, efficient, and positive culture for your workforce?
At LP, we believe that cultivating a more inclusive, engaged, and skilled workforce is essential to building a better, more sustainable, and more competitive company—because when our people thrive, so does our company. We focus on three core areas—culture solutions, wellness solutions, and personal and professional development solutions—to provide meaningful resources that help build a better world for every LP team member.

Who are your primary customers or users?
Our building products serve a wide range of customers—including retailers, wholesalers, and homebuilding and industrial businesses—primarily across North and South America, with emerging sales in Asia, Australia, and Europe.

What key lesson has your company learned running a manufacturing operation, and what recent achievement or solution best illustrates it?
At LP, safety isn’t just a priority—it’s a core value. Our commitment to safety is reflected in a strong culture and a proven track record of excellence. Since 2010, LP has earned more than 100 safety awards and achieved 1 million recordable incident-free hours at various sites 18 times—a testament to our proactive approach and employee dedication.

Three of our facilities proudly hold OSHA VPP Star Certification, recognizing exemplary safety and health management systems. In 2025, LP was honored with the Safest Company Award from the APA–The Engineered Wood Association—our 13th recognition in the award’s 17-year history. These milestones underscore our belief that every team member deserves a safe workplace and that operational excellence begins with protecting our people.

How is your company involved in or giving back to the community?
Community engagement is at the heart of who we are and how we operate. At LP, we invest in the places we call home—dedicating funding, resources, and volunteer efforts to causes that reflect our mission and values. Our focus on economic prosperity, skill building, and local support helps foster thriving communities and create lasting, positive impact.

Since 1973, the LP Foundation—an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit fully funded by LP—has been committed to Building a Better World™. Over the decades, we’ve contributed nearly $23 million to nonprofits and public schools in the communities where our employees live and work.

Each year, the LP Foundation empowers our mills, facilities, and offices to respond to local needs through community grants. With more than 20 facilities across North America, these grants represent the majority of our annual contributions. In Nashville alone, the LP Foundation typically donates approximately $200,000 annually—strengthening our hometown and reinforcing our commitment to community-first values.
