Who is Emerald Luxury Transportation, and what should we know about you?

Emerald Luxury Transportation is a high-end transportation service provider based in Nashville, Tennessee. We specialize in offering luxury vehicle services, including airport transfers, corporate transportation, night-on-the-towns, weddings, special events, and any other customized services. Our fleet consists of luxury vehicles like sedans, SUVs, and Sprinter Vans catering to both individual and group transportation needs.

Our company is known for its commitment to customer service, punctuality, and providing a premium experience for our clients. My business partner (Joseph Bishop) and I are both retired law enforcement officers. Joseph retired as a Deputy Chief of Police with the Metro-Nashville Police Department, and Edward retired with the rank of Sergeant. Emerald Luxury Transportation is known as, “The Gem of Nashville!”

How do you manage and maintain a positive company culture?

Managing and maintaining a positive company culture is pertinent to any organization. There are several different strategies that we use, but here are a few.

1. Clear Vision & Values:
At our first interview with a candidate, we communicate our company’s core values clearly. We ensure all candidates understand our company mission and goals, which helps us create a sense of purpose and direction.

2. Leadership by Example
Our senior leadership/team members embody the values and behaviors that we want to see daily. We are true believers of the old saying, “Treat others how you wish to be treated.” As a leader, I am transparent, honest and open in my communication, fostering trust and respect.

3. Open Communication:
We create channels for open and honest feedback. Employees should feel safe expressing their opinions and concerns without fear of retribution. Hold regular one-on-one and team meetings to keep communication lines open, address issues early, and ensure alignment.

Can you share a significant lesson you have learned as a business owner?

The most significant lesson I have learned as a business owner is that you have to work “on” your business not “in” your business. When I established Emerald Luxury Transportation, I was working full-time with the MNPD. One day, a national brand contacted us wanting to set up a meeting the following day to potentially establish a business partnership to be a service provider. Unfortunately, I communicated to them that I was not able to get off from work and requested if we could meet a couple days later. The representative stated she would check her schedule and give me a call back. Do you think she called back?

Are there new markets or demographics you are targeting?

There are no new markets or demographics that we are currently targeting. As previously stated, we provide services to an array of industries and clients. We look forward to the opportunity to work with any chamber organization that needs ground transportation services.

What is unique about your business that makes you stand out?

We have been in business for nearly 13 years, and I feel what sets us apart from our competitors is our customer service, and the consistent service provided by our team members.
