Can you share a significant lesson you have learned as a business leader?
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned as a business leader is that leadership is about serving others, not being served. The best leaders remove obstacles, invest in their people, and create an environment where employees can succeed and grow. When you put your team first, they take ownership of their work, and strong results naturally follow.

At John W. McDougall, our full-service metal fabrication facility allows us to deliver complex architectural façade systems entirely in-house, something many metal panel contractors must outsource. From design-assist services and engineering support to precision fabrication and installation, we provide a true turnkey solution. This integrated approach gives our customers greater quality control, faster project delivery, and a single trusted partner from start to finish.
Can you share why the Nashville region is a good place to do business?
Tower cranes mean opportunity. Nashville continues to experience tremendous growth, with developments like The Gulch, Nashville Yards, and the East Bank creating strong demand for qualified trade partners. For John W. McDougall, it’s especially rewarding because this has been our backyard since 1938. We’ve had the privilege of helping shape Nashville’s skyline while continuing to grow alongside the city.
