On November 18-22, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce joined employers, industry representatives, labor organizations, community-based organizations, workforce partners, educational institutions, and Federal, State, and Local government agencies across the nation in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of National Apprenticeship Week (NAW).
Each November, National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) shines a spotlight on a workforce solution that has been quietly transforming industries for decades: apprenticeships. This annual celebration provides an opportunity to highlight the value apprenticeships bring to businesses, individuals, and communities.
Apprenticeship TN, Tennessee’s State Apprenticeship Agency hosted regional apprenticeship conferences in Tennessee to highlight successful apprenticeship partnerships, involving employers, institutions, associations, workforce board and more! Apprenticeship TN serves as the state provider for assistance in registering an apprenticeship program. Tennessee is making remarkable progress in increasing awareness and participation in apprenticeships, particularly in non-trade industries.
For employers, the benefits of investing in apprenticeship programs are abundant, offering a strategic advantage in today’s competitive job market.
Here are the top reasons to invest in apprenticeships:
- Proven Model- Apprenticeships are a nationally recognized and proven earn and learn model for meeting industry talent gaps through training programs that meet industry standards.
- Talent Pipelines- Apprenticeships provide an opportunity to create an intentional pathway to develop and train talent with the skills to meet the demand of industries
- Return on Investment– Apprenticeships have several benefits, including improving retention, company culture, and upskilling employees.
- Incentives– Employers can receive many financial benefits for registering apprenticeships such as tax credits and grant support at the state and federal level.
The Chamber is excited to champion the innovation and sustainability of apprenticeships in Middle TN. We will continue to bring more awareness to this workforce development strategy in our next Talent Solutions Forum in February 2025! For more information on Apprenticeships visit here.
