Following Winter Storm Fern, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce launched a Business Impact Survey to better understand how we could support the broader business community. Many small business members noted the value of continued visibility, connection, and shared resources. Through our Small Business Support Campaign, we’re highlighting survey participants across our e-newsletters, blog, and social media channels. We encourage you to learn more, support them, and share their services.

One way the community can support us is to trust our wonderful senior caregivers to provide quality care for you or your loved one. Seniors Helping Seniors Nashville provides non-medical home care and companionship to seniors.
In a few sentences, what does your business do, and who do you serve?
Seniors Helping Seniors Nashville provides non-medical home care and companionship to seniors. In short, we want to keep folks safely at home for as long as they want to be there! We also emphasize hiring seniors as our caregivers. This helps both client and caregiver develop a true peer-to-peer relationship and bring a unique understanding to the needs of aging. We believe our model positively impacts the hidden loneliness epidemic in our aging population.
What inspired you to start this business, and what’s the story behind it?
I have seen the impact similar work has had on my grandmother, and I wanted to provide a way to make a positive impact on the seniors in Nashville and our surrounding communities.
What products or services would you most like the community to know about right now?
Companionship care – it doesn’t have to be just sitting and visiting (though that is certainly important work too!). We can also provide light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation to appointments and outings, medication reminders, and a variety of other services.
What makes your business unique or special in our community?
Our emphasis on hiring from within our senior population. Many folks need a way to bridge income gaps as they age, and our work provides a safe and dignified way to make some extra money while providing a truly valuable service.
What’s the best way for people to support your business right now?
The ice storm left many of our caregivers without shifts to work, some for more than two weeks. If folks have been thinking about finding care for themselves or loved ones, we’d be honored to meet with them and discuss options!
Are there any current offers, needs, or messages you’d like us to help share?
We can provide a no-cost, no obligation home visit! to trust our wonderful senior caregivers to provide quality care for you or your loved ones.
