Opportunity Populations
More than 400 soldiers transition into civilian life from Fort Campbell each month. The Chamber works with the Northern Middle TN Workforce Board and Fort Campbell to build a process around employer connections to transitioning soldiers and their spouses. The goal of this work is to retain valuable talent exiting the military to fill workforce needs in Middle Tennessee and beyond.
Fort Campbell Leadership Visits
The Chamber hosts quarterly leadership visits to Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Nashville business stakeholders get to experience the day in the life of a soldier. Included in the day is a lunch with servicemembers and their families, culminating with a “speed-dating” style event that provides networking opportunities between servicemembers and employers, and the ability to connect with the Transition Assistance Program coordinators where they can learn how they can establish their own training pipelines.
Career Recon
In partnership with Operation Stand Down Tennessee and Belmont University’s Jack C. Massey College of Business, Career Recon is an intense 2-week workshop held in Nashville. The goal is to equip Service members with the working knowledge they need to find their specialty more easily in the civilian job world. The skills learned are universal, but the networking is focused exclusively on Middle Tennessee. Upon completion, each person will receive their Certificate of Business Acumen from Belmont University’s Jack C. Massey College of Business.
